Renowned figure of Nollywood, Mr. Ibu, has reportedly passed away
Esteemed performer John Okafor, famously known as Mr. Ibu, has succumbed to a prolonged battle with blood clots in his leg. On the second of March, the actor breathed his last in a medical facility in Lagos state.
Over the years, the actor grappled with blood coagulation in his leg stemming from impaired blood vessels, alongside other health complications.
In October 2023, he made a public appeal for financial aid to address his ailment.
Efforts were underway to transfer him abroad for further medical intervention, but his medical team deemed him unfit for air travel.
In November 2023, he underwent a surgical procedure to amputate his leg as part of his treatment regimen.
He leaves behind his spouse and offspring. He reached the age of sixty-two.
The seasoned actor was widely acclaimed for his exceptional portrayal of comedic characters in films.
