Both Gunmen Wanted for Young Dolph’s Murder Arrested

A first-degree murder warrant was issued for 23-year-old Justin Johnson last week.

On Tuesday afternoon (January 11), the U.S. Marshals announced a Tennessee man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Young Dolph has been captured in Indiana.

A first-degree murder warrant was issued last week for 23-year-old Justin Johnson for the November 17 shooting death of the Memphis rapper, born Adolph Thorton Jr.

 WLS-TV reports that more details are expected to be released at a press conference on Wednesday with U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller, Shelby County District Attorney General Amy Weirich and Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis.

The marshals service and Memphis PD have been searching for the suspects in the killing and offered a $15,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis on Nov. 17.

He was 36. WREG reports that Memphis Police said one male victim was located and pronounced dead at the scene and confirmed Dolph was the victim.

Officers and witnesses gathered in front of a broken window at Makeda’s Butter Cookies, a bakery in a local Memphis strip mall.

A man who identified himself as the business’ owner said a young man had been shot while buying cookies.

Memphis police released photos of the two suspects wanted in Dolph’s shooting death

The pair of suspects are seen getting out of a white, two-door Mercedes Benz armed with guns and wearing sweatshirts, as they approach the Memphis rapper.

Investigators say the two suspects shot him several times before fleeing.

Dolph was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is currently ongoing.

A private funeral was held for Young Dolph on November 30 and a section of street in the neighborhood where he grew up was renamed for him on December 15.
