Award-winning star artist, Wizkid has provoked a fresh uproar in the music industry as he declared that he has halted listening to rap music, declaring the genre of music is uninteresting and extinct
Wizkid who has been hitting the headlines since the onset of the week, may have flared another round of fuss in the Nigerian music industry with the insensitive statement he uttered.
The Grammy award-winning artist while conversing during an interview with 10 Magazine, let out that Afrobeats music is the new pop and boasted about how he sold 2 million copies of one of his songs in America.
He even said that some American artistes do not have a diamond record, and also added that he does not listen to any other genre of music outside Afrobeats.
“I don’t listen to rap again because is boring to me; it’s dead now and tired. Three guys do same thing by rapping on the same beats and flow,” Ayo said.

Samkleff also seized the opportunity to air his views. He tweeted;
“Rip Nigeria industry.. international body don take over. U are now local just as u treat other celebrities way back.. Wizkidayo is gone, burna boy is gone. Other artists otilo. Pele Pele. International body now controls afrobeats! None of this boys Dey attend the wicked industry awards. Nothing last forever. Karma is always by the corner. All those artists wey una treat bad una go need them one day. Una sabi blacklist artist now dem don blacklist una”
