The legal proceedings involving Nigerian artist Azeez Fashola, widely recognized as Naira Marley, and his alleged involvement in cybercrime, faced a setback at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos

The trial was adjourned to November 13 and 30, as the police persisted in their refusal to present the defendant, causing a temporary standstill in the case.

Naira Marley, facing 11 charges related to conspiracy and credit card theft, has been under the scrutiny of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), placing him at the epicenter of legal scrutiny.

During the previous court session, Naira Marley’s attorney, Olalekan Ojo, pointed out the conspicuous absence of the musician, attributing it to his purported detention by the police, possibly connected to the tragic demise of Mohbad.

In response to the situation, Ojo requested the court to postpone the trial, expressing concerns about the rapper’s non-attendance.

In a bid to ensure Naira Marley’s presence on the rescheduled date, the prosecution, led by Bilkisu Buhari, urged the court to issue a production warrant for the artist. Presiding judge Nicholas Oweibo approved the prosecutor’s requests, subsequently issuing the production warrant for the defendant.”
