Fireboy clarified his musical hiatus, emphasizing the necessity to step back for personal growth. In his words,

“2023 has been a year of learning and growth for me as a person and as an artist.
“I’m just really grateful for the journey. When people say be grateful for the journey, I think this year has been that year for me.
Sometimes, it’s okay to step out from being an artiste and just realise that you’re human as well.
