Meek Mill gives back to Philly families who were impacted by criminal justice system

Took them blessings and put on for my peoples in a major way 💎blessings💎

Meek Mill and his Dreamchasers label gifted several Philadelphia families who have been impacted by the criminal justice system with toys, clothes and game consoles.

On Wednesday (Dec. 23), the “Dreams and Nightmares” emcee’s team, in partnership with Puma, REFORM Alliance, DocuVault and GoPuff, delivered the gifts to 35 families. Because of COVID-19, he was only able to FaceTime with some of the families as they received their presents. He reportedly listened to their stories and heard how the criminal justice system has affected them.“It’s been a tough year for all of us, but through all the ups and downs, I’ll always do my part to support and give back to the Philly community that raised me,” said Meek.

He continued, “I remember not having much growing up, so it’s important to use my platform to give back, especially to the families trying to provide for their kids while also dealing with the criminal justice system.” Additionally, Meek announced that he has donated $30,000 to Twelve Days of Christmas, which is a volunteer organization that assists families through the holiday season. The funds will help 30 families in North Philly, including those who attended his old elementary school.

Earlier this month, Meek teamed up with Michael Rubin to launch a $2 million scholarship fund for kids in their hometown. The money will reportedly benefit 1,000 children in the area and will go toward the 2020-21 school year. Students from pre-K to high school will receive the proper resources needed during the Coronavirus pandemic.

“The students from poverty-stricken homes who are selected to receive a scholarship can use the money to attend private/parochial schools throughout the city with costs covered,” reports TMZ. The students who are currently enrolled in virtual learning can use the funds to buy equipment, such as tablets, laptops and WiFi.
