Xavi Hernandez Gives Fresh Update on Frenkie De Jong

The manager of Barcelona Football Club, Xavi Hernandez has given an update oj the future of Frenkie de Jong.

The Spaniard was speaking after the opening league game against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday, August 13th, 2022. According to Xavi, he does not know what will happen before the end of the transfer window. De Jong came in as a substitute in the second half of the game but could not help the Catalonia club find a win.

No, Frenkie de Jong is not a substitute. I don’t know what will happen with the market. I can guarantee that if he stays, he will be important for us.

The Dutchman has been on the radar of Manchester United since the start of the summer transfer window. However, the player has insisted that he will not leave the club despite the pressure from the board.

However, Chelsea are waiting in the corners just in case there is a glimpse of a chance to sign the midfielder.
