Rema Breaks Wizkid’s Record On Billboard Hot 100
The super-talented Mavin/Jonzing World signee now maintains the record for the highest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 for a Nigerian artist
Nigerian ace singer, songwriter, and performer, Divine Ikubor, popularly recognized as Rema, has smashed a Billboard Hot 100 record that was set by Afrobeats superstar Wizkid.
Starboy frontline artist and owner, Wizkid, previously held the record for the highest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 after his hit tune ‘Essence,’ which featured whiz Nigerian songstress Tems and Canadian popstar Justin Bieber, peaked at the No. 9 position on the Billboard chart.
In an update of events, the official billboard chart Twitter account announced on March 21st, 2023, that the 22-year-old Rema had smashed Wizkid’s record in a chart dated for March 25th, 2023.
The singer’s global ‘Calm Down’ which features Selena Gomez peaked at the No. 8 position, making it the highest charting Nigerian songs on the Hot 100 chart so far.
