Nigerian Entertainment News: Lyta Publicly Appeals to Olamide, Expresses Desire to Reunite with YBNL
Opeyemi Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, a Nigerian entertainer, has expressed his wish to rejoin his former music label, YBNL Nation
Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, widely recognized as Olamide Baddo, serves as the proprietor of YBNL Nation, holding the roles of a renowned rapper, composer, and record executive.
Lyta recently clarified during an episode of the Ginger Yourself Podcast that his departure from YBNL was not intentional. He stated:
“I want to be back with YBNL. What I did back then [leaving YBNL Nation] wasn’t intentional. I didn’t hear from Olamide before leaving and after I left, he just locked up.
“But I’ve spoken to him since leaving. I chatted with him via Instagram on his birthday and he responded.”
Responding to a query about whether Olamide follows him on Instagram, the ‘Monalisa’ singer replied, “No. He doesn’t follow anyone on Instagram.”
Lyta had discussed his alleged separation from Olamide’s record label in a 2019 interview.
Olamide, in a separate interview, mentioned that Lyta expressed the desire to leave the record label after claiming to attract interest from another record label. This decision had garnered criticism from music enthusiasts who accused the Nigerian rapper of abandoning Lyta, a promising talent at the time.
In a 2022 interview, Lyta revealed that he departed YBNL Nation because he “heard a lot of things from friends and people in the industry.”
He further explained that he “didn’t know who or what to believe and some people eventually got into my head.”
Lyta also disclosed that he made attempts to reconcile with YBNL, seeking support from others, but Olamide did not respond.
